Due to the rise in popularity of Stargate Fan Films I have decided to open a Fan Films Theatre on StargateSG-1.NET. At the moment the Fan Films we have covered are the films by "Superteam Productions", who made the Call it a Stargate series. These episodes were a humerous glimpse into the world of SG-1 featuring actors with english accents, which made the whole thing feel more like a Monthy Python rip of SG-1. A new Stargate Fan Film is in production called "Stargate: Delta". A section for this fan film will be online soon. For more info head to the Fan Films Theatre.
The official Website for the game is now taking orders for the game. As previously stated, it is priced at $34.95 and can be bought using Pay Pal or by credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Remember, if you order early enough you could receive your copy in time for Christmas.
Gatercon 03, has been postponed until January of 2004. The convention was originally slated to take place on the 8th and 9th of November of 2003 at Barcelona, Spain. The event was to feature Don S. Davis. It has now has been postponed until the end of January. The reason for this is that a lot of people have requested their tickets be refunded so that they are able to attend the future event with Michael Shanks and Christopher Judge. This has caused that the revenues were not enough to cover the honorarium of Don S. Davis. More information with regards to the Michael Shanks and Christopher Judge will become available shortly. For upcoming info check out their website: Gatercon Website Wolf Events, the hosts of Wolf SG-6 and SG-7 are being kept busy. Later this month SG-6 will take place in London on the 31st of October to the 2nd of November 2003. This convention will feature; Alexis Cruz, Frida Betrani, Mussetta Vander, Don S. Davis, Colin Cunningham and Carmen Argenziano. This event is sold out, and if you are one of the ones lucky enough to have gotten a ticket then have a good time. If you are not lucky enough to have gotten a ticket for SG-6 then do not despair as Tickets for SG-7 are still on sale. However, over 80% of the tickets have been sold so if you’re still interested, you better get in quick, as they won’t be there for much longer. SG-7 will take place in London on the 6th to the 8th of February 2004. Guests include, Teryl Rothery, Ronny Cox, Steve Bacic, Dion Johnstone and Alex Zahara. Adult tickets for SG-7 are priced at £77.50, whilst the child tickets come in at a lower price of £42.00. These prices include the booking fee as do all tickets bought from Wolf Events. Wolf Events are presenting the Shanks and Judge Tour. The dates for these events are as follows:
The tickets for the Glasgow and London based events are already out on sale, so if you’re interested in one of these events then get yourself over to the ticket office at www.wolfevents.net Adult tickets for the Shanks and Judge Tour in London are £37.00 and for Glasgow, £32.00. The child tickets in Glasgow are £17 whilst the London child tickets are £22. I can’t wait for the Shanks and Judge Tour! I already have my Glasgow Tickets booked. See you on the other side! The London Expo will take place on the 18th and 19th of October. There are many guests at this event ranging from feature film actors such as Kill Bill's Michael Madsen and Lord of The Rings Billy Boyd to TV Actors such as Star Trek Voyagers Tim Russ and Red Dwarfs Chris Barrie. Stargate related guests will be the lonesome Jaffa Warrior, Tony Amendola, who plays the charismatic Bra’Tac. He will be appearing on both days. Teryl Rothery was supposed to attend, but is unable to do so due to work commitments. The early bird tickets for each day are £11.50 so if you can only go on one day you can buy a day ticket. If you wish to go to on both days you can buy the two-day ticket at a price of £22. On the Sunday evening (19th of October) you can have dinner with stars at an expensive price of £68. For that price the food better be good =) Thanks to Gateworld for the heads up on the Gatercon Event and Wolf Events for the Convention Information
When speaking with the President of Fleet Games, Anthony Listrom, he revealed many things regarding the game. In my previous report I stated that the game was due out on November 2003. As the games will not hit US shores until the 15th of Dec they will not get to the distributors and then to the stores before Christmas. So a Late December 2003/January 2004 release is more likely. Fleet games current stage of production with the game is that they have completed all of the graphics (the box top & bottom, game board and SG-1 cards) and will be forwarded to MGM for approval. As far as production of a game goes, Moulds are made for the creation of the plastic pieces for the game. There are moulds for Asgards, Earth and Goa'uld soldiers, starships and the Stargate. At the moment Fleet Games are concentrating on getting the games into US hobby stores and have not yet had a chance to organise the game for UK distribution due to the heavy production schedule, however, they have been contacted by several UK distributors and are discussing opportunities. Hopefully within the next few weeks’ things with foreign distribution will get a kick-start. In the next few weeks MGM will be sending out a newsletter to Stargate fans who have signed up for e-mails regarding MGM products. This e-mail will tell them about the game and will forward them to the official website. Anyone who purchases the game online within a week of the e-mail will be guaranteed it by Christmas. Otherwise, fans will have to wait until after Christmas to get the game in stores. StargateSG-1.NET is lucky in that MGM have just approved the top box and we have gotten permission to reveal the design. Click on the thumbnail at the beginning of this report to see the larger version of the games top box cover, which uses the famous images previously used on the sites official website. Region 1 Round Up: Just over a month ago the Stargate SG-1 Season Four "Five-Disc Boxed Set" was released on Region 1 DVD. Next up is the Season Five Boxed set on DVD. According to TVShowsOnDVD.com it was reported that a date of the 20th of January 2004 was when the set would be released. Recently, they received a planner from MGM outlining their DVD releases for January. The Season Five Box set was included, thus re-enforcing the January 20th report.
However, MGM have not announced an exact date for the DVD so the January 20th date is just a rumour at this stage. The planner states that the set has a list price of $69.96. The DVDs will no doubt include Special Features but these have yet to be confirmed. As the previous box set included the new commentaries for the first time on Stargates Region 1 DVDs, it is more than likely the season five set will include the same commentaries featured on the Region 2 Season Five DVDs. Commentaries to watch out for are Amanda Tapping’s commentary on “Ascension”, and Chris Judge’s commentaries on “Threshold”. Other features previously not included on the Region 1 DVDs are the Actors Video diaries. The video diaries were included on the Region 2 DVDs and hopefully they will be on the R1 discs. This is where the fun begins; wacky diaries, dodgy camera work and fun ‘n’ games are to be had as the actors on SG-1 are given their own camera to do as they wish on set. At the moment it is unknown if these are to feature on the Season Five discs as extras, or what the extras are to be. When I know more about the exact details of the DVD, you’ll know. Thanks to Gateworld for the heads up on this report
